Egypt and the Nile: the two are inextricably linked. Almost 2,500 years ago, Herodotus, looking back even then on 25 centuries of recorded history, wrote, “Egypt is an acquired country, the gift of the river.” This custom tour delves into the two’s connection and resulting wonders.
Begin with the treasures of Cairo and surrounds, including Saqqara, the Giza Pyramids, and an eye-opening visit to the magnificent Grand Egyptian Museum. From one city of riches, journey to another in Luxor, where the Valley of the Kings reveals the temples of Hatshepsut, Ramses VI, and, of course, Tutankhamen. After all that you’ve witnessed, board a luxurious Nile cruise, where the pace slows and offers time and space to contemplate one of humanity’s most fascinating civilizations.
