Geographic Expeditions and Off the Beaten Path Announce New Domestic Travel Collaboration
September 29th, 2020
Geographic Expeditions and Off the Beaten Path, two trailblazing and award-winning adventure travel companies, are excited to announce a new partnership that will enable GeoEx travelers to explore domestic destinations now with OBP, and get credit towards future travel with GeoEx.
GeoEx and OBP have had a close relationship for three decades. The two companies, along with a select group of other top-of-their-class adventure travel companies, founded a consortium called the Adventure Collection, dedicated to sharing best principles and practices and to promoting sustainable travel around the globe. This consortium continues to thrive today, with members regularly exchanging information, expertise, and advice.
Based in Montana, OBP began operating in 1986, offering expertly curated trips in the Rocky Mountains. Through the years they have expanded these domestic offerings to cover the Southwest, Pacific Northwest, California, the Canadian Rockies, and national parks throughout North America.
San Francisco-based GeoEx, a pioneer of travel to remote and challenging destinations since 1982, specializes in designing custom journeys and small group trips—cultural tours, treks, safaris, cruises, and journeys by train—to enticing destinations in some 70 countries around the globe.
“Partnering with our good friends at OBP is an ideal solution to our current challenge,” said GeoEx CEO Scott Montgomery. “The far-flung places we’ve been taking travelers for 38 years are mostly off-limits now, but our wanderlust is as strong as ever—and we know that’s true for our travelers, too. Working with OBP allows us to offer GeoEx travelers a way to satisfy their wanderlust at home right now, until we are able to take them to the far corners of the world again.”
“Based on our long collaboration, we know that OBP and GeoEx share the same passion,” said Cory Lawrence, CEO of OBP. “We both aim to provide over-and-beyond customer service to travelers who want to explore the lesser-known wonders of a destination. Since our travelers have the same mindset and goals, this seemed like a perfect partnership. We’re thrilled to show GeoEx travelers the places we love close to home.”
To celebrate this partnership, GeoEx is offering a $250 future trip credit to GeoEx travelers who book a custom US trip with OBP by December 31, 2020.
“This is a classic win-win-win,” said GeoEx’s Montgomery. “Working with OBP, a trusted travel companion, we can offer our beloved travelers a GeoEx-style experience close to home.”
